After spending two days in Da Nang, I went to Hoi An which is only 35km away for the rest of my vacation in Vietnam. Compared to Da Nang, I like Hoi An better for its more developed tourism and friendlier hospitality from the locals. Besides sunbathing at the beach or the pool in the resorts, travelers must go to Hoi An ancient town to see the heritage attraction, chill at the small cafe and shop.
This old little town charm me with its signatured yellow architecture and the lively ambience from the vendors by the river and tourists around. There are a lot of shops that you can definitely buy some local specials for yourself or family and friends. I might or might not bought too much jewelries and Vietnamese style bags there. Also, Hoi An is well-known for the skillful tailors. Don’t leave the town before getting your dress or suits made there. I have two dresses mades by a lovely Hoianese that I am very satisfied of how good they look and how perfect they fit me in only 70 US dollars!
When the night come slowly, it is relaxing to sit by the river to have a cup of coffee or my choice, a scoop of ice cream to watch the lanterns light up the town. Too bad that I wasn’t here for the full moon, I heard there’s a festival every month.
